Episode Shownotes
- You decide when you want to be a man or a woman. In today’s society, we have a defined track that we tell kids is the right one– get good grades in high school, attend college, get an internship, and then land a great job. However, that’s not the only way. If you feel the pull towards business and entrepreneurship, you can get ahead early by getting in the game right after high school.
- 1 Corinthians 13:11 “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
- There is no junior Holy Spirit. The only limitations we have are the ones we put on ourselves.
The Importance of Combining Faith & Work
- The Lord will open up doors for ministry in any environment. He wants to be a part of everything we do.
- We know that our body is a temple of The Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19), but how many people live their lives on a daily basis acknowledging that He is 100% with them in everything that they do?
- God is a good Father who wants to see His kids succeed at the highest level
- Work is a true gift from the Father, and it was given to us before the fall in Genesis 3.
How to Proactively Involve the Lord in Your Business
- It’s easy to speed through a full workday and realize that you never acknowledged the Lord’s presence with you.
- The Lord does not condemn us for that, but His heart is to be with us as much as possible and yoked more intimately to us.
1. Start by talking to the Holy Spirit. Declare truth like “It’s going to be an amazing day.” “Thank you for allowing me to be alive today.” “I am excited to co-labor with you today.”
2. Make it a strong priority to get in the Word first thing in the morning.
3. Stop and have intentional moments with God throughout the day. Put other responsibilities and busyness on hold if you have to do so in order to prioritize your time with the Lord.
4. If you feel stress, pressure, or anxiety, or anything that is not the presence of God, stop and pray. Magnify the finished work of Jesus. You can’t focus on stress and Jesus at the same time.
- “John replied, “No one can receive anything unless God gives it from heaven.” John 3:27
- If a business, investment, or career opportunity is not from the Lord, it’s not worth it.
Grace After Mistakes in Business
- “He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” Psalm 103:12
- Anyone who is going to succeed in business from a Kingdom perspective has to be strong in the grace of the Lord.
- You are going to make mistakes on a regular basis, and you have to be willing to recognize and learn from them. Then, you have to move on.
- David made some really egregious mistakes. However, one of his greatest attributes was that he went back to the Lord’s presence and forgiveness on a regular basis.
- “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16, KJV
