Shownotes
Wealth building is multigenerational.
- “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:3
- Your family has a calling, and every calling has a story. Enacting that story is like a quest where you move from point A to point B, and so on and so forth. The Holy Spirit is our guide.

Give inheritance and heritage.
- An inheritance is tangible, like money and properties. Heritage is a family’s legacy and reputation.
- When you give legacy and heritage, you are acting in step with God’s heart. Choose to be in the will of God by acting like God, our Father, who thinks about the next generation and the next generation.
Get a pulse on the interests of each family member.
- Take stock of everyone’s dreams and talents. Do they want to be involved in the business idea or investment opportunity?
- Parents, value the voice of your children and put their decisions on a level playing field as they are ready. They can be equal partners in the business.
Preserving and building an inheritance glorifies God.
- In Greek, the word glory means “the view and the opinion.” God has a way of looking at things, and He wants to invite us to see, experience, and understand His reality.
- God’s design is to build wealth through the family unit. When they don’t, there’s poverty because wealth is not passed from generation to generation. God’s glory means that we step into his experience of reality. And then we begin to work with God who’s going to bless us, because it was his idea in the first place.
- Children should move from dependent to independent to interdependent.
Put things in writing.
- Don’t leave room for any misconceptions or misunderstandings in your family business.
- Then, if there is any conflict, you can handle it like a business and leave less room for offense.
