Prosperity Redefined Shownotes

Believing the Word

  • There’s a lot of people that still think that God doesn’t want them to prosper. And then there’s another side that considers prosperity to be all about what we can get for ourselves.
  • However, God has a Kingdom purpose for prosperity.
  • From Genesis to Revelation, prosperity is in the Bible, and it’s a key part of God’s heart for His children.
  • 3 John 1:2 (NKJV) “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
  • Psalm 35:27 (NKJV) “Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
  • God is no respecter of persons. Everyone can prosper, but they must renew their minds to the Word of God regarding prosperity.
    • Joshua 1:8 (NIV) “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

Doing the Work

  • Now, prosperity is not going to fall into your lap. You must do the work to be a wise financial steward and build wealth.
  • In the Bible, God frequently show us that the path to increase involves taking a step with what they already have.
    • The woman with the oil (2 Kings 4:1-7)
    • Feeding the 5,000 (Matthew 14:13-21)
  • Consider: what resources do you have, and what can you do with them?
  • If you know that it’s God’s will for you to prosper, then it’s your job to apply the Word to your life and take steps of faith toward that end.
  • Invest in yourself by learning about building wealth from free resources (like this podcast!)
