One of the most common questions I get asked is how to find your purpose. It seems like everyone these days is preaching that you need to follow your passion and do everything possible to fulfill your purpose. Many of us grew up thinking we should just get a job that paid the bills! So how do we start to identify our purpose?

In today’s blog post, I’m going to give you some steps to do just that. Before I do, I wanted to encourage you with something first. It’s never too late to begin a new journey with God. I started dreaming up Tricord Global in 2007. Now, this wasn’t the first company I’ve ever owned or the first job I ever had. But I believe no matter what age or stage of your life that you’re currently in, God’s not done with you yet! I founded WealthBuilders after I retired! Whether you are just out of college, or in your 60’s looking for something to keep you busy after retirement, this blog is for you!

How to Identify and Fulfill Your Purpose

Step 1: Get Quiet with God

You know, Acts 15:28 says, “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and us…” Now, I don’t know about you, but I would love the assurance of knowing something seemed good to God as well. How do you get that? You get quiet with God and pray. You ask Him to show you your next step. I don’t ever want to do anything that doesn’t align with God’s will, so I make sure to run things by Him! Sometimes there’s little confirmations and sometimes there’s big confirmations.

Don’t be afraid to ask God what your purpose is. He will begin to bring things and people into your life. Pay attention to that!

Step 2: Look for Confirmation from Others

I’ve told the story before of the long prophecy I received many years ago. The things this man declared over my life that he said were already done were things I was just dipping my toes into at that point. There were other things I was considering, but when I got this prophecy, I could see what fit into my life and what didn’t.

I know everyone is not going to get that sort of confirmation or verification, but you can look for it in little ways. People come up to me all the time and say that my blogs and vlogs really helped them. I know I’m doing the right thing here by writing to you all because it’s working! Pay attention to what others are praising you for, and see how that aligns with your life.

Step 3: Watch for Fruit

I know that my purpose in life is to teach others the principles of “making sense of making money for making a difference.” How do I know? Because we have helped thousands of people out of poverty with our loans from Tricord Global. We have countless testimonials of people who started with one small loan that now own two or three profitable businesses. One woman even got started with a small loan and went on to be mayor of her town in Uganda! If that isn’t divine favor I don’t know what is.

The other thing that I do is teach others how to begin the process of wealthbuilding for the purpose of making a difference. I see the fruit from that business because there are people who have gone from owning zero properties to becoming millionaires from real estate. People have come out of debt and it has changed their lives. The fruit of the work I’m doing sure seems good to me. Pay attention to the impact you are having in the world. If it’s blessed by God, you will experience supernatural favor.
