Operating a business requires a lot of faith. There are decisions and risks that will impact your family, employees, and community. As entrepreneurs, we need biblical encouragement to continue in the vision God has given us with confidence. So, this blog post and corresponding episode of The WealthBuilders Podcast are filled with scriptures to strengthen you and keys to help you achieve supernatural success in your business.

1. Conquer Fear

 “The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in and puts his confidence in the LORD will be exalted and safe.”

 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7, BSB)

 Fear is one of the most common hindrances to fulfilling dreams, vision, and purpose. There is no place for fear in our lives. It only causes us to doubt what God has called us to do. Fear is a terrible place to make business decisions from because it inhibits you from thinking clearly.

 This topic is (unfortunately) near and dear to my heart. I struggled with fear for years. I wanted to see God’s will come to pass in my life and experience great things, but I did not want to leave the safety of my 9-5 job or risk doing something that my family potentially would not understand. It kept me from stepping into what God had for me for a long time.

 Fear comes from the enemy, but we tend to meditate on a situation’s potential negative outcomes. Instead of focusing on the negative, imagine the positive things that could go right. God’s love is the power that will kick fear out of your life!

2. Trust in Your Purpose

 “Many plans are in a person’s mind,

but the Lord’s purpose will succeed.”

 “Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor].” 1 Peter 4:10 (AMP)

Knowing you have heard God and believing in your purpose for him translates into bravery and being able to step out in faith. I remember a season in my life when I continually prayed, “Lord, just help me be stable.” That prayer catalyzed my journey to find God’s purpose for my life. It anchored me and helped me to be brave.

God’s purpose for you should serve as your constant motivation. It is the core of how you were uniquely created, and it functions across every area of your life. God has given each of us talents and gifts, as well as the grace to use them to build up the Body of Christ.

We make our plans, but God’s purpose will succeed. As it is in every area of life, praying about God’s purpose for our business should be a daily endeavor. Once you get confirmation about that purpose, you can move forward in unwavering confidence.

3. Vision Flows from Purpose

“And Jehovah answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hasteth toward the end, and shall not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:-3 (ASV)

It is important to understand the order of operations when it comes to receiving a vision for your business. Sometimes we pray, “God, give us a vision!” He will, but the vision will flow from your purpose. Then, your purpose will produce the steps to fulfill it in every area of your life.

Once you have a vision, write it down to remind yourself and others. As Habakkuk 2:2 says, frequent meditation on God’s purposes will cause you to run in the right direction. God gives you a big vision not because of you, but because of him. I have heard people say that if your vision feels like something you can accomplish in your own strength, it’s not big enough. You will encounter resistance, but that should not compromise your confidence in God’s plan for your life.

4. Trust God for Provision

“Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”

Joshua 3:5 (NKJV)

“You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you.” John 15:16 (AMP)

God will always follow through and provide what you need to fulfill your purpose and vision. Paul Milligan, the former CEO of Andrew Wommack Ministries, often says that provision follows vision. Set yourself apart and focus on God. If you seek God’s heart, he will give you His hand, but we can’t reverse the order. If we abide in God, we will bear fruit and keep on bearing!

 Trusting God’s provision roots us in humility. Provision in business is not just monetary—it could be anything you need, from employees to energy. If we’re not careful, we can go into hyper-speed and try to operate our business in our own timing and strength. Humbling ourselves and trusting God’s timeline and resources allow us to press into peace and divine partnership. God is faithful, and His purpose will be accomplished in your business and your life.

5. Live Out of The Finished Work

“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.  Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.”

Perspective is essential to life. Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness because he believed in a promise he could not see. (See Genesis 15:6) When you get stuck in your vision, step out in obedience. God is faithful. This is a key principle for walking out into the blessings of God. Remember what we said about conquering fear? When we focus on what Jesus has done and choose to live out of that (rather than overanalyze it or work in our own strength), God does so much. Believe that God is faithful, even when everything in the natural realm seems impossible. Like Abraham and Sarah, you will see the promise come to pass.
