In the month of October, we are focusing on social impact. I have a non-profit, Tricord Global, which focuses on providing micro-finance loans to entrepreneurs in developing nations. That’s not all we do, though. We also provide business and finance materials and teaching to our clients. Why? The main reason is that they don’t have access to this information. This is what truly elevates the nations.

Most of the client testimonials we get say that they never knew saving money was even a concept. How incredible is that? In today’s blog post, I want to teach you how to elevate the nations. I want to tell you how my business has a lasting kingdom impact so that you can, too.

Elevate the Nations through Teaching

Ministers to the Needs of Others

The best way we know how to impact the world is through the example of Jesus. So, let’s look at the gospel of Matthew:

“Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people”.

-Matthew 9:35

Jesus was teaching and preaching, but notice that He was also ministering to the physical needs of the people. With Tricord, we want to help people out of poverty. We want to give people the tools to change their lives on the outside as well as on the inside. Teaching them how to run a business and steward their finances is a way of ministering to the actual needs of people, and therefore elevates the nations entirely.

The Economy of the Kingdom

Each disciple you make has the potential to grow in Christ, turn around and start making other disciples. We disciple a nation when we disciple the people in that nation, but it can’t just be about the 4 or 3,000 disciples you have. It has to be about the condition of that city and nation. Is that city or nation being transformed because of you?

We need to look for the economy of the kingdom. Oral Roberts once said, “whoever controls the finances of a nation will control the spiritual climate as well.” By teaching business and finance to our clients around the world, we are taking the country back for the Kingdom. Using the economy of the kingdom elevates the nations.

The Law of Stewardship

In many cases in third world nations, we have created a welfare mentality. We’ve been throwing fish to the people without teaching them the skills needed to help them maintain that lifestyle. In other words, we have just been throwing money at a wall to see if it sticks, instead of teaching people how to work and live.

When you teach people about business and finance, they are able to steward their wealth well. Like I said before, there are people in these nations who don’t even know the concept of saving money exists! Much less the concept of investing money.

I hope you have learned a little about social impact in this vlog. We are currently campaigning to raise money for one of our loan clients in Uganda, Africa. Samuel owns the Farm Uganda, and needs some money to help him minister to his village. His farm feeds hundreds of school kids, helps other farms with seeds and equipment, and aids the villages in maintenance. I encourage you to help us raise money for their new equipment, any amount is a blessing! Click here to learn more and donate.
