How to Partner with God for Purpose & Prosperity

Shownotes:

1. Know Your Position: You are on a Mission

  • When it comes to building wealth, everyone is on a journey.
  • Luke 2:41-52 tells the story of Jesus teaching in the temple at the age of 12. This shows that He was keyed in on His purpose from a young age.
    • Verse 52 says, “Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.”
    • In other words, Jesus was increasing in every capacity!
  • God has you on a track for increase. He wants you to grow in wisdom and the ability to apply the knowledge you are gaining. So, be comfortable in your process!

2. Partner With God’s Vision

    • Ask yourself: Who do you need to become in order to do what God has called you to do?
      • When we get a glimpse of what God wants us to do and who He has designed us to be, we must take steps of faith to partner with that vision.
    • Adjust your perspective: We all grow up with a lens on life that is less than perfect. So, when it comes to prosperity (and everything, for that matter), we must be willing to put aside our feelings and opinions. Then, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us His perspective.

    3. Grab Hold of God’s Provision: You Already Have It!

      • As followers of Jesus, everything we need is on the inside of us. You don’t have to strive toward some unattainable goal. Rather, you can release, or cooperate, with what God has already provided you.
        • For example, we can build wealth by cooperating with Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV): “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
        • God has given you the power to get wealth, now it’s your job to activate it.
      • “Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.” (Daniel 12:3, NLT)
        • As we get education, the teacher — the Holy Spirit — is showing up to give us insight.
        • Jesus wants to give us clarity and wisdom to navigate life in a way that reflects the Kingdom.
      • “So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man on the cross, then you will understand that I Am he. I do nothing on my own but say only what the Father taught me.” (John 8:28, NLT)
        • We cooperate and steward what God has given us, but we shouldn’t feel the pressure. Why? Because we have the continual support and presence of our Heavenly Father!
        • As Jesus yielded to the Father, He released His favor. When we yield ourselves to God, we are modeling Jesus.

      4. Look to Solutions, Not Problems

      • In the miracle of Feeding the 5,000, Jesus and the disciples fed everyone with five loaves of bread and two fish (and they had leftovers!)
        • How? Jesus taught the disciples to work with what they had, not what they wished they had.
        • Partnering with God for purpose and prosperity starts by using what’s in our hand, too.
      • “Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people.” (Luke 9:16, NLT)
        • In Greek, the word “looked” indicates a change in perspective.
        • That’s one of the ways God prospers us — he gets our view off the current market, interest rates, etc., and draws our eyes to His abundance and abilities instead.
      • God will always equip you to ‘feed’ others.
      • Don’t sit on the sidelines. A major part of finding wealth building solutions is applying the ‘how-to’ information!
