What are you looking forward to in this season of life? As people of faith, it is important to be aware of our expectations. Why? The object of your hope will be the motivating force throughout your life. Holy expectations align with God’s word and the promises He has given you.

Word of Faith Hawaii notes that, “Expectation in God means we have confidence, courage, and a deep conviction that nothing will stop us from accomplishing God’s dream for the world.”

At WealthBuilders, we are committed to showing you how to find, follow, and fulfill your God-given vision. Nine times out of ten, that requires financial resources. A Spirit of expectation is the key to attracting the financial favor necessary for your success.

What is a Spirit of Expectation?

First of all, expectation is an active partnership between you and God. You have a role to play in preparing for the promise.

Someone with a Spirit of Expectation:

  • Aligns their hope and faith with the promises in the Word of God.
  • Is eager for Jesus’ prayer in Matthew 6:10 to be fulfilled: “Thy will be done, thy kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven.”
  • Expects God to move in every area of their lives.
  • Is marked with a confidence that God will equip them to live on purpose and fulfill their mission on earth, doing “exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.” (Ephesians 3:20, KJV.)

The tell-tale sign that someone has a Spirit of Expectation is that they prepare to receive the object of their prayers. Their faith in God’s faithfulness leads them to take action.

The prophet Isaiah encouraged the Israelites to have a Spirit of Expectation that all God’s covenant promises would be fulfilled. He prophesied:

“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes.

For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left, and your offspring will possess nations and will people the desolate cities.” (Isaiah 54:2-3, ESV)

That’s a word for someone who is reading this: Do not hold back. Make room for miraculous increase. The New Living Translation says, “Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out your home, and spare no expense!”

So, where is God prompting you to create room in this season? Are there any changes that you feel prompted to make?

God will partner with your faith, but you have to take a step into the uncomfortable and unfamiliar. God will give you new wine, but you must offer Him a new wineskin.

What is Financial Favor?

If you feel led to make room for increase in your finances, there are steps you can take to attract financial favor in your income, investments, and business. The possibilities are endless.

God’s favor is the abundant grace He lavishes on us to help us fulfill His perfect will. Financial favor is the same grace applied to money.

You can’t do anything to earn favor, but you do have to take the steps to receive it. That’s why I say that money is attracted, not pursued. There are things you can do to get in a posture of receiving– aligning with God’s timing, surrendering control, and acquiring financial knowledge, for example– but God is the one who brings the increase.

3 Ways to Attract Financial Favor

1. Learn Specific Knowledge

  • God is not going to give financial favor to someone who is not prepared to steward it well. Gaining relevant knowledge and experience is vital in any area where you want to grow.

2. Pray in Faith

  • Pray big prayers and invite the Holy Spirit into your imagination. Dream with God and don’t shy away from talking to Him about the desires of your heart.

3. Take Practical Steps of Preparation

  • When you create the space, God will fill it. When it comes to financial favor, preparation is absolutely vital. Start the downpayment fund, set up the LLC, make the investment– take a relevant step in the direction of your God-given vision.
