I meet people from all over the world and they all tend to ask me the same question: “how can I build wealth?” That is the exact reason why I founded WealthBuilders: to teach and train entrepreneurs worldwide how to build wealth and make a Kingdom impact. However, when I tell people how I built wealth, they all react the same way.
I tell them that I built the majority of my wealth through investing in real estate, and I immediately see their brains switch off. They were either hoping I could give them some easy answer, or at least something they thought they too could achieve. It has always puzzled me why people are scared of the idea of investing in real estate. Sure, I’ll admit when I got started in real estate, I wasn’t sure if it was going to work out. There’s a lot of mistakes you can make. However, after decades of investing in real estate and coaching others how to as well, I can tell you that you too can build wealth through investing in real estate. Here’s the biggest tip I’ve gotten so far: you don’t know what you don’t know.
How To Build Wealth Through Real Estate
Identify What You Don’t Know
In order to get started investing in real estate, or anything for that matter, you’re going to have to identify gaps in your knowledge. When you’re starting something new, there may be a lot of gaps. Start by writing a list of the things you don’t know yet, but probably should in order to be successful.
In real estate, this might be knowing what properties to buy, how to find renters, or what underwriters look for when you apply for a loan. When you identify what you don’t know, you start yourself on the path of getting to know.
Gather The Knowledge
Now you know what you need to start figuring out in order to be successful, so go figure it out! The internet is full of free knowledge and training, so I would suggest you start with that! If you have the resources, I encourage you to invest in yourself by investing in products that will help you gain knowledge. I also encourage you to go to seminars or conferences to network with like-minded individuals.
The biggest tip that will fast track you to success is to find a mentor. Find someone who has done what you want to do, and ask them to help you out! Again, if you can’t find someone in person, find someone online! I have been told that I am many people’s virtual mentors because of my blogs, and that makes me so happy. It would be impossible for me to meet all of you for lunch and give you tips for success, but I can teach you everything I know online.
Just Do It!
It’s a cliche, but really just do it. You will never be 100% ready or prepared for whatever you are going to do. Use the guides of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, and get started!
Many people are held back by fear, and they never get started. They don’t believe in themselves or their knowledge so they take themselves out of the game. That is the biggest mistake you can make. As with everything in life, you will make mistakes in real estate. I’ve made plenty of them! But you have to learn from them and keep going. You can invest in real estate, and you can build wealth. You just have to figure out what you don’t know.
