If you are unhappy with what your life looks like, or where it is headed, change it! We have more authority than we often know when it comes to our lives. Unfortunately, many people don’t know how to discover a vision for their life that is better than where they are!

We’re weeks into the new year, and I hope things are changing for you. However, if you find you need a little push, I am here to help you out!

How to Discover a Vision for Your Life

Step 1: Seek God

Psalm 139:16 says, “all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” I believe that God has a vision for your life, and He wants you to discover it! He’s not hiding it from you.

I believe that God has placed the desires in your heart, so start by looking there! God also places people in our lives to help us discover vision. I got started in real estate because of a chance encounter I had. If this man had never mentored me, think where I would be today!

When you seek God, and you ask Him to help you discover a vision He will. It may not be through an audible voice, but rather people, places, or events that stir something inside of you.

Step 2: What Upsets You + What Invigorates You

When people ask me how to find their purpose in life, I always tell them to look at two things.

First, consider what makes you angry. For example, I started Tricord Global because the poverty rates around the world were astounding. There were all of these people willing to work hard, but no jobs to pay them.

Secondly, think about something you’re really passionate about. I have always loved teaching, which is why I was a pastor for so long. God has led me into a new season of life, but I am still teaching others! I am teaching people how to build wealth, invest in real estate, and make a kingdom impact. Think about what you really love to do, and write both of these things down.

Step 3: Dream Big

We do not serve a mediocre God, right? Our God is the God of miracles! Luke 1:37 says, “For nothing will be impossible with God!”

Don’t limit yourself to making a mediocre salary, or working at a job you are just okay with. Settling for a mediocre life is dangerous, so dream big!

If you could accomplish anything at all in your life, what would it be? Would your write a book? Start a million dollar business? Travel on missions trips every month?

Whatever it is, write it down, and start working towards it. Start praying that God would help you accomplish these big dreams, because you can’t do it alone.
