Sometimes people are successful but are completely unaware of what recipe they used to get there. It’s like my wife’s grandmother and the tea cakes she used to make every Christmas.

One year, my wife asked her, “Grandma, how do you make those tea cakes?”

“I don’t know,” Grandma responded. Every Christmas she made those tea cakes, but she didn’t know the recipe.

My wide pressed and Grandma finally suggested, “Becky, why don’t you come over and let me show you how to make the tea cakes?”

So, Becky went and watched, and she learned the recipe.

If you want to change your circumstances in life, you have to learn a new recipe for success. You have to do something different to get a different result. In today’s blog, I am going to teach you four questions you need to ask in order to change your level of success.

4 Questions to Change Your Level of Success

1.) What are you seeing?

My son used to be a baseball pitcher at an NCAA Division One university. I told him, “When you get around guys who are successful and are making it in the pros, don’t ask them how they throw a curve ball. That will help you, sure, but there are other questions that will be more helpful. Ask them what goes on in their minds when they are on the pitcher’s mound. Ask what they are feeling, thinking, and seeing! Get their recipe!”

2.) What are you believing?

I say this all the time, but if you want to be wealthy, take a rich person to dinner and ask him what he believes about wealth. Ask what kinds of things he believed and thought when he got started, what images he saw, what feelings he had.

The Bible says faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17), but you need to know what people did with the Word of God that made it work for them. You need to learn how they put themselves in a stance of faith. You need to know what they were feeling and believing.

3.) How are you submitting your body?

Here is the secret sauce: you can meditate on the promises of the Bible, but unless you get up and start acting like they are true, you will not see much happen!

Push past the resistance that your flesh puts up. Talk like you are successful, walk like you are successful, pray like you are successful, give like you already are successful! I promise this changes everything.

4.) What questions did you ask yourself?

Finally, many people can get depressed and ask, “Why is this happening to me?” Instead, they should be asking, “What can I do about it? What does God want me to do about it? What can God help me learn in the process of overcoming this? How can I beat this?”

The real questions is not if you will be successful or not, but how you can manifest success in your life.
