‘Tis the season for giving! If you’ve been reading my last few blogs, you know how giving back has changed my life. Throughout the year, we are concerned about getting things for ourselves and doing things that make us happy. I love this time of year because we begin to shift the focus to others. In today’s blog post, I’m going to give you some ideas on how your business can give back this year! When we partner together, we can do great things.

Using Your Business to Give This Season

Giving Trees

This is a great way to activate your employees and get them into the giving season. You can partner with organizations like the Salvation Army’s Angel Trees, or your church to sponsor kids for Christmas. There are always kids and families in need. School districts also sometimes have a list of families that are in need for presents. Find a local partner, and ask if your business can sponsor families. If you’ve never heard of a giving tree before, you put some basic information on the kids and what they like, and each employee will pick a kid to get a gift for. It truly is a great way for the whole company to donate their time and money this season!

Percentage Donations

If your main revenue stream is product sales, then you can run a promotion for the end of the year where a percentage of all the sales you make from either your whole store or a specific product will go to an organization. This is often really effective because people are buying exactly what they were going to already, you just donate some of the proceeds! This is a great way to get your audience involved as well because they will feel like they are contributing to doing some good.

Volunteering

Money isn’t the only thing you can donate, try donating some of your time! I encourage you to take your employees out on a workday to help out at local organizations like the food bank or soup kitchen. Again, all they have to do is show up for work like they normally would, but they get to be a part of something bigger. A couple of months ago, my team and I spent the day packing a shipping container with Project C.U.R.E, and everyone had a great time.

I hope this post has helped you get into the holiday spirit. We are running a special Legacy Partner Push in order to finish our year as a non-profit strong! To learn more about what it means to be a legacy partner, click here. If you do donate, thank you from the bottom of Becky and I’s heart.

If you do use one of these opportunities to give back with your business, let me know! Either write it in the comments below or email info@wealthbuilders.org.
