As we talk about “Money Mastery,” I want to begin with a verse from the Bible, Matthew 6:24 (NKJV): “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” The NIV makes it even plainer: “…You cannot serve both God and money.”
The obvious truth is that many people serve money even though they never made a conscious choice to do so. I share this verse because people have not learned how to manage their money and therefore they have become a servant to their finances. So Jesus said, “You cannot serve God and money.” Many of us that have a great heart to want to serve God end up serving money by default simply because of our situation.
The goal of this book is to teach you how to break the hold of money over your life so that you can be free to serve God. How awesome would it be to have all you need and, according to 2 Corinthians 9, “to be able to give to every good cause”? That’s a good place to be! So, when we talk about “Money Mastery,” we’re talking about you and I becoming the master of our money as we serve God. Because Jesus made it plain: you cannot serve God and money.
I remember the first time I realized I didn’t have to think about my monthly or annual budget. It was awesome! It’s not that I don’t ever have to manage my money. But I don’t have to think about whether or not I’m going to live or make it from week-to-week or, for that matter, from year-to-year.
I’m going to tell you right now: that is a wonderfully freeing experience. And the best part is that then I have the time to sit down and listen to God—and do what He says!
I have a bit of an announcement to make here. For a while now, the requests that I write another book have been building.
Well. I’ve decided to listen!
Sometime this year, I will be releasing a book I’m calling “Money Mastery.” It will be a compilation of all my teachings on finances and wealth—and yes that is a snippet above. I’ve put myself to a pretty crazy deadline with this book, but that doesn’t mean I’m not treating it with great care! I want this book to be as perfect as it can be. My hope is that it will be exactly what you want and need.
I have just one question for you. I’ve got the outline nailed down, and almost all of the content written. But I want to make sure I cover everything you want to see.
So here’s my question: What are the two most important things I need to cover about mastering money?
It would mean a lot to me if you respond with your answers in the comment section below. Thank you!
I never would have written this book if it weren’t for the people in my life asking me to. Because of that, I really want to dedicate this book to all of you.
Thanks,
Billy Epperhart
