At my real estate workshop this weekend, I had the opportunity to speak with many of you who had vastly different goals surrounding your business. Despite the wide range of experience and expertise, you were all setting personal goals and chasing after future success. It is important that we set meaningful goals to help generate change and growth in our lives. Today, I’m telling you that if you’re willing to invest in your purpose and your individual goals, then the Lord will grant you the future success that you need. As Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” I want to share with you five personal goals that can lead to prosperity in your business.

Build the Business and Life That You Deserve

Master Leadership Skills:

Honing in on your leadership skills is crucial to the success of any organization or business, no matter how big or small. Developing your leadership skills doesn’t happen in a day. However, the rewards you will reap in terms of productivity and success will make the time you put in worth it.

Start with examining your verbal, written and visual communication skills. Being able to communicate effectively and strategically should be the baseline of your leadership goals. Whether you’re communicating with your team or with your audience, your interactions should remain positive with a clear call to action. In other words, you need to define a compelling vision and pursue the best way to communicate that vision. The top business leaders are able to increase their commercial benefits by simply improving their systems of communication. Seek out a mentor, take a class, and learn from successful communicators around you. Your ability to successfully communicate could fill the gap that is preventing your business from moving forward.

If you’re looking for that key to success in your business, you need to look at the core of your operations, which is your team. Being a successful leader means learning to delegate wisely and build a sense of trust within your team. This means being an active listener, a capable decision-maker and being able to exhibit honesty and integrity. When a healthy team relationship is encouraged, the whole company stands to benefit significantly. Always remember, great leaders aren’t just born, they can be developed through time, training and knowledge!

Build Meaningful Wealth:

What’s better than building longlasting wealth and financial security? Being able to have the freedom to use that wealth for a meaningful impact. When you build wealth for the kingdom of God, He tells you not only to build barns for yourself, but to also build barns for others. This is why I believe in “philanthrovesting.” This is a term I coined in my book, Money Mastery, which is the principle of investing your money to make a social impact. I urge you to look deep within yourself and ask, “Am I using His blessing to bless others?” It could be through tithe to your church, donating to charities or nonprofits, investing in social impact causes, or volunteering your time. Either way, I can promise you that your business will become richer when you make the choice to give.

Achieve A Healthy Work-Life Balance

Many of you have a deep desire to succeed in your professional lives, which is undeniably a great thing. However, when work takes precedence over all else in your life, you may begin to notice that you’re neglecting other aspects of your life such as family, friends and sometimes even God. Developing a harmonious work-life balance is critical to your physical, mental and emotional health. To try to schedule time in your day to unplug from the outside world, take a deep breath, and pray. Finding time to decompress helps prevent burnouts and creates a healthier balance in your life. I encourage you to prioritize your health, your loved ones, and your own personal needs. It isn’t a simple task, but it will allow for a more productive and enjoyable lifestyle.

Create Connections with Like-Minded Individuals:

Some of the most successful entrepreneurs have become so through networking and establishing meaningful relationships. New opportunities can present themselves if you simply put the time and effort in to become more involved with those in your network. Through the fostering of these long-term, mutually beneficial relationships, you can gain access to resources that can help expand your business.

At my WealthBuilders workshops and conferences, I have seen strangers become family. Becky and I share this special relationship with many of you. I am encouraging you to develop these meaningful relationships not only for the benefit of your business but also for your prosperity and well-being. I urge you to step out of your comfort zone, talk to your neighbors and start creating more meaningful connections.

As 2019 is drawing to a close, I hope you take some time to consider your upcoming goals. Whether they are personal or business goals, I am praying that you receive the blessings that you need. Just remember, invest in yourself and success will follow. I want to hear from you in the comment section below, what are your biggest goals?
