At the time I am writing this, it is the eve of Christmas Eve. This time of year is undoubtedly nostalgic. Starting around Thanksgiving, we count our blessings and begin to reflect on the past year. I have been thinking about all of the people God has brought into my life, directly and indirectly— not to mention in the middle of a pandemic that brought the word ‘social distancing’ into the mainstream. As I think about it, this is the perfect time of year to talk about one of my favorite Laws of Wealth— the Law of Connection. It’s all about how God shows us how to build connections with one another to help us build His Kingdom on earth.
What is the Law of Connection?
“Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you; therefore, I will give men for you, and people for your life. Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, and gather you from the west.” Isaiah 43:4-5
A new year is right around the corner. God has people to help us on the path He wants us to go that we haven’t even met yet. On the day I was born, I believe God set aside a treasure chest for me that was full of people and experiences for my future. I like to call those opportune people and moments divine connections.
How to Find Divine Connections
My wife, Becky, and I have been married for some 40 plus years. We were high school sweethearts and, since then, every morning that we are physically together, we pray for our divine connections from the Lord. We pray like this: “Father, we thank you. You have people for our lives. We believe there are people in the north, people in the south, people in the east, and people in the west. Lord, we speak to the north, we speak to the south, we speak to the east, we speak to the west, and we command them to give up the people that belong in our lives.” Then, as we come across people throughout our day, we believe that God has divine appointments that, in many cases, lead to divine connections.
Learning to build connections is crucial to success and wealth building. Don’t let the phrase ‘divine connections’ intimidate you— these could be as simple as friendships or family members. Connections are a way to get you further than you could ever get on your own. In other words, they give you leverage. Archimedes once said “Give me a lever long enough and a place to stand, and I can move the world.”
If God Were a Businessperson…
God created every person with specific talents, desires, and gifts. He knows how to build connections that are most advantageous to His children and to Kingdom-building. When we commit in our hearts to partner with God, He has a plan. Think of the best businessperson or leader you know. They are well aware of the talents of the people they lead and the purpose they are seeking to achieve. Then, using that knowledge, they implement a strategy that will best employ their people and most efficiently reach their goal.
If God is perfect and has His eyes on the whole globe, how much more all-encompassing is His plan for the people He wants to bring into our lives? No matter what profession you’re in or where you live, we are all subsets of the larger ‘business’ of bringing God’s Kingdom to earth.
YOU Are an Answer to Prayer
If you are reading this, you are in some way an answer to Becky and I’s daily prayer for God to bring people into our lives. Just this week, our team was assembling our End-of-Year magazine to mail out. Addresses from every state in America were stuck onto the labels. We emailed dozens of virtual copies across the globe. The diversity reminded me of how far God’s reach is.
We are so grateful for the network of divine connections that WealthBuilders has allowed us to learn and grow alongside. So, YOU are an answer to prayer, and we are thanking God for your life as we celebrate all of the blessings that He has brought to us this holiday season.
